OUR STORY
About Falcon Acoustic Design Group — 50+ Years of Acoustic Excellence
Falcon Acoustic Design is a family-owned, legacy-driven acoustic firm with a passion for controlling sound in even the most challenging architectural spaces. Over five decades ago, our founder Porter Falcon began studying acoustical materials and innovating curvilinear panel designs. His creation, the AcoustaCurve™ panel, combines three functions — bass trap, deflector, and absorber — into one elegant curved acoustic element.
Because domed structures create unique acoustic problems — concentrating sound, causing focal echoes, and making low-frequency control difficult — Porter’s AcoustaCurve design was a breakthrough. That design is now employed in dome buildings across the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Since those early beginnings, we’ve expanded our expertise beyond domes to gymnasiums, performing art centers, sanctuaries, event venues, and more. We treat each building as unique — no cookie-cutter solutions.
WHY CHOOSE US

HISTORY
Over the years we have studied acoustics and sound under Carrie's father, Porter Falcon. He taught us that sound and acoustics go hand in hand. He began to study acoustical panels and their functionality and quickly realized there was a need for an acoustical panel that would solve multiple issues, so he designed the AcoustaCurve. This panel is slightly curved to address three main elements in sound abatement: bass trap, deflector and absorber.
As specialists in acoustics for dome buildings Porter knew the AcoustaCurve Panel was the right answer for such a daunting challenge as the nature of a dome brings its own level of difficulty. With proven success, his design is now used in domes across the US, Canada and Mexico.
Aside from domes, there are many other applications that can be used in a building from school gymnasiums, to foyers and sanctuaries. We utilize custom panels for every job and no two jobs are alike. This will ensure that you get the maximum sound abatement for your unique building.
We use only Guilford of Maine acoustic material. You can check out their website to see the plethora of colors and patterns they have to offer. www.guilfordofmaine.com
We will continue to study and grow the business that Porter has passed onto us. We will treat every job and customer as though they are family, with the uniqueness that each family member brings.
MEET THE TEAM

Carrie and Michael have been married for twenty-seven years. They have three daughters, three son-in-laws, two granddaughters and one grandson.
Carrie was raised in the business of sound and acoustics by her father, Porter Falcon. Porter was in the sound business starting in the 1960’s. Carrie learned the value of quality sound and how to hear proper acoustics. Though Porter has now passed the baton to Carrie and Michael, they all work together on client projects. Carrie thinks her father is "a genius when it comes to acoustics".
Michael has worked alongside Porter for many years and has great knowledge and understanding of acoustics. His easy going personality and love for others shows when he interacts with customers.
As they journey on, they learn something new everyday, passing their knowledge and expertise on to customers. They live by the motto: Always treat others the way we want to be treated.
